Dean Markley's Nickel Plated Blue Steel Bass strings are Cryogenically-processed via a procedure where they are frozen to minus 320 degrees Fahrenheit and then held there for an exact period of time. The strings are then slowly and carefully brought back to their original temperature. This unique Cryogenic treatment realigns the molecular structure of the string, giving Blue Steels more highs and lows, a longer life, and a greater ability to stay in tune. The NPS Nickel Plated Blue Steel gives a Nickel Plated sound with the Blue Steel long life and tuning stability- Blue Steel Bass strings are made of brilliant Stainless Steel, and the Cryogenic process delivers two to three times the life of regular strings.
