Pick-up the World UST's are installed through a small hole on one end of the instrument's saddle slot. These pickups are called "under-the-Saddle" since they are installed in that location ( "under-the-Saddle") , and they benefit from the direct vibratin of the entire saddle material.
UST pickups generally provide a very natural woody tone but with higher feedback resistance than the SBT pickup, along with a faster attack envelope that helps to cut through higher stage volumes.
In a solo, lower-volume setting the sound of a single SBT can be perceived to be somewhat "one-dimensional", but the addition of an SBT pickup in a "Duo" configuration overcomes this limitation and gives the best of both worlds in sound performance.
